Hi
Guys,
I was wondering if you could post a message that defines what
can be changed in a SKIN and what is a copyright violation. I am about
ready to go live with my site (which has absolutely nothing to do with
skinning) but in researching IBF and the skins, I have come up with some
mods that I liked and incorporated. Then I read that changing the skin
has some potential copyright issues. Here is a list of the things I did
and the changes I made:
Downloaded IBF 1.1 Beta
Added OSX
Polomint Skin
Added 3.2 Portal
X-Added Home page change to
Portal
X-Added "Quote of the Day" Modification
X-Added
"Calendar" Modification
X-Added "Sponsored By"
Modification
X-Added Home Page Bar with "Add to Favorites"
The
items marked with an X indicate what I think could be considered a SKIN
modification that could potentially violate a copyright. Obviously I know
things like removing the copyright notice and stuff like that would be
blatant. Nevertheless, I would like a list of things that could be
changed and what cannot.
Thanks!
Therese
