Hi
Guys,

I was wondering if you could post a message that defines what
can be changed in a SKIN and what is a copyright violation. I am about
ready to go live with my site (which has absolutely nothing to do with
skinning) but in researching IBF and the skins, I have come up with some
mods that I liked and incorporated. Then I read that changing the skin
has some potential copyright issues. Here is a list of the things I did
and the changes I made:

Downloaded IBF 1.1 Beta
Added OSX
Polomint Skin
Added 3.2 Portal
X-Added Home page change to
Portal
X-Added "Quote of the Day" Modification
X-Added
"Calendar" Modification
X-Added "Sponsored By"
Modification
X-Added Home Page Bar with "Add to Favorites"

The
items marked with an X indicate what I think could be considered a SKIN
modification that could potentially violate a copyright. Obviously I know
things like removing the copyright notice and stuff like that would be
blatant. Nevertheless, I would like a list of things that could be
changed and what cannot.

Thanks!

Therese

those
are mods to invision board, and not of the skin itself.

if you had
went and changed images, to better suit your specific site yes, then that
would be a modification of the skin itself.

usually all We ask is
if you do change the skin, whether changing the color slightly or some of
the graphics, to just put in the copyright that it is a modified skin of
the original.
