How did you
come to use Invison board, i always wondered how you lot came to know
about it.

Myself well i knew about it from Ikonboard days, i used
to live with matt the builder of it all, He used to spend all days write
it all, and i used to test parts and use it on a forum we ran, i was never
into coding or the graphics side until about a few months ago, when we i
spoke to matt about have a non copyright version of Invision with our
quake3 clan site. So AristiA and myself decided to build a skin for that,
Yep the mac OSX one in use now, as our clan was the MAC clan. Well since
that we meet lloyd (team Leader here) and we decided to start this site,
we started with just the few versions of OSX and the gel collection on our
MAC clan server, and we got a few ppl commenting there, a few more ppl
then said more, that we should design a skin ste as the skins where of
good standard.

So we the 3 of us we set to work, AristiA and myself
as Skinners and Topgunn9 as the leader on forums. And that was just 3
weeks ago now, and as the rest.... well its all happening now.

So
how did you end up coming here and how you know of invision ?

Well....I registered with invisioboard As M3NF was a friend of mine and
told me about it. I began posting a little, and soon became hooked
:)

Ikonboard's community forums
went down for a long while, during which M3NF and I began to see
eachother. Then One day we made our MAC clan and had a few rubbish forums,
I was always researching how to run a server from our home pc, then one
day I found out and BAM we snapped up invisionboard like a shot and had
our clan site forum all tidy :)

Made a skin for it, and reaslised
we should make a forum for the few skins we'd made. Then we made
ibfskinned :)

So that's the story through my
eyes :)

I began
with Ikonboard. I was at a role-playing club (Dungeons & Dragons and
stuff) and they had an online board which i joined and posted regularly
on. The first time I actually installed and ran my own board was for my
school's intranet. It is still there even if I did leave. I found
Invision when looking for skins for Ikonboard and decided to try it out. I
downloaded it but it was a few months before I found any hosting with PHP
& mySQL... That was the advantage to Ikonboard: It required alot less to
run B) Then I started in web
design and bought some hosting and it ran on it! I hosted a
friend's forum and started searching for a skin. I found the green
jelly on the =]MAC[= clan forum and requested a red jelly which was made
specially for me and my mates :D I kept
M3NF & AristiA on my MSN list and talked to them and we came up with the
idea for this board. They installed it and I helped set-up the topics and
stuff (All of which is changed from the origional
 ).
The idea was they would skin and I would run the forum as I had never
skinned before and between family and skinning they would not have much
time for the board. But things have worked out different. They both post
heaps and help run it and now I skin :D We are
really proud of how this community is going and we hope it continues to
get bigger and bigger
That
is how I see it all at least...

I
Found out about this place from a link at ibskins.

As for finding
out about invision, well I had been posting at a place called codebusterz
which was a Ikonboard at the time then he upgraded to an invision board
and I thought the layout was alot better then what I was used to (that
having been the super old infopop UUB called Planet Community). A few
weeks ago I found a free hosting service that had everything I needed to
make a half decent board with no pop ups, so I put up a phpbb, thats when
I decided to move on to something that wasn't so limited, which was
invision.

The Z-boarders will rule the world!!

I knew of Invision Board as, well, I know of most PHP bulletin boards, saw
the development from one of the very first days it was public (when it was
running Ikonboard or something), and loved it. Saw IBFskinned from a site
which gave you credit, and was using one of your skins. I really liked it,
so I came over here :D

I wanted vB, but vB costed money... lots of it.

I love those guys. :)

I knew about Invision Boards because the online Xbox Live hockey leauge used them as well as the espnhockey.net forums, a forum I frequent because its a fan site of a game I really enjoy. So when i started up my own ace combat fan site, i decided to go with Invision because it was really was I was just used to and preferred the look/feel over phpbb and VBulletin boards.

I found out about skinning by going to IFstyles a lot, reviewing a lot of different IF skins, and finding out the difference between good and bad forum design which helped me out a lot when I finally got the IPB for my real website. They were using an NBS skin one day so I followed the link here and signed up. I have mainly been a download whore for a while now here and havent really tapped into using the forums too much until recently I started posting some graphic sets I made.
