OK.

Will do this one here for you, so you can always pop back & take a look at how to do it whenever you need to.

1.First of all you need to find the skin you wish to use on your board, as we all know although the standard skin is ok, it can be a bit bland & also not in suiting your needs for your site.

NBSdesignz (http://www.nbsdesignz.com) have an extensive range of skins for all versions from v1.1.2 upto v1.3 at this moment in time.

2.So now you have decided what skin to download & use on your board, the file you have just downloaded will be in zip format & will need to be un-zipped using Winzip or any other unpacking software that you normally use. Please note you only have to unzip the main file, anything within that file that is zipped MUST stay as it is, so please dont unzip any further.

3.Usually now you will be confronted with a readme file & also the actual skinset. The Skinset is usually named Set-(skinname).tar. Now this is the file that you will need to upload to your server space to be able to import the skin for use.

4. To upload the skin for you to be able to import it for use, you will need to upload this file to your server space within the Archive_In folder for your board. so using your ftp software or the control panel that came with your hosting, navigate to your forum folder & open the Archive_In folder & upload the Zipped Set-(skinname).tar into it.

5. Now before going any further we would suggest CHMOD'ing a couple of the folders for the forum so that when importing you dont get any error messages saying that the skin could not be imported due to chmod values not being correct.
The folders that will need altering will be the Archive_in, Skins & also the Style_Images folders. These three will need to be altered from thier usual CHMOD 755 to 777.
Now if you are using FTP software just a right click on the folder and clicking on attributes will usually allow you to change the CHMOD values. if you are using the Cpanel for your hosting usually clicking on the folder will give you a few options on the right & one of them will be to alter the permissions.

6. When this is done, you will need to open up your browser & go to your forum, log in to the Admin Control Panel & scroll down the left hand side where all the options are to the Skins & Templates section. When you click on this it will expand that section & you need to click on import Skinset. This is part of the reason we explained earlier to make sure the CHMOD values were altered, as if you havent altered the CHMOD value of the Archive_In this is the main problem people post in the support section stating the skin doesnt show up when they try and import it.

Now all being well your skin will be there to be imported, so all you will need to do is click on inport & the board does the rest for you.

7. The final this to be done is when it is imported click on the manage skin sets option that comes up & either set the skin to default or set the skin to be hidden or not. That is basically it. Your skin will now if set as default be used by everyone, if not set as default but not hidden will be available for everyone to choose from the control panel.

Hope this is of some help.
