Banner

Hi, I need to insert my own banner (I'm using the Black Blue skin, and
I want to get rid of the IBFskinned banner on the top of my screen), but I
don't know how to do it. Can someone please explain? Thanks.

ok if you get the file you downloaded and open it up, you see the .tar
file and the readme, open the .tar file and inside you see a folder called
images, inside that is a file called logo.gif, and there maybe on called
blanklogo.gif

remove thou from the tar and then make you new logo
you want the same size as that, if there is a blank one the open that and
add the new name onto it. Once you got that looking the way you want,
upload it to your sytle_image folder on your
server

/host/style_images/then into the s folder, now there will be
at least 2 s folders there, if only 2 then it will not be the s1 but the
other one, just place it into that as logo.gif, and overwrite the old
logo.gif, and that it. :)

ok if you have to much trouble just let me know, and let me know what you
want it to be and i make it, but you will need to upload it still into the
right place, but trust me its not hard

I've just tried to open the .tar file you was referring to, and it
won't open because my Mac (It drives me up the blasted wall) said that
it couldn't find an application that would support the .tar
extension... or summat like that... :cry:

Ok here a quick one, if you want it any different plase say so, only takes
a few minutes to make, so if you do not like it please say and then tell
me what your looking for.

Now just copy the image to your hard
drive. then upload it to the folder as up above i said

the font of GameHub Forums... can you change it to a more futuristic font
like BoomBox or something? And make the title look like it's made out
of metal? Also can you change the colour of the background to a dark
colour like black or dark grey or something please? I love the effects
you've applied to the background, so keep them in. Thanks. You're
a star. :)

Where do i need to put that? Do i need to upload it to my tripod
account using WebFTP? I can't open the .tar file on my hard disk.

If you would have renamed the .tar file to .zip it would have worked just
as good.

Little trick I picked up skining aim, lol.

ok goto your site where you upload the forum, inside you will see a
folder called sytle_images, go inside that and you will see folders called
s1 and other name of the skins you have installed all you goto do is place
the image inside the skin you want to change blueblack, just remember to
name the image you just got to logo.gif then drop it into the folder.
thats all

this will only work if you already installed the skin thou, as if not the
folder will not be there :)

so if you have not done already
install the skin as normal then do the above when the skin is installed

Sorry about the double post. I have quite a few problems to solve.
:) The next
problem i want to solve is: How do I turn on email verification? Ppl can
register and start posting straight away, without recieving a verification
email. how do i ensure they recieve a verification email, then start
posting after they've activated their account?

outgoing e-mail?

Well, that's partly why I'm confused about it, as I am not sure
what I'm supposed to do to set it up, like what settings to use, like
PHP mail or SMTP etc.

If you go into AdminCP it is all under Board Settings. You can choose how
people register and even ask for a fax of parent consent from people under
13 (Known as COPPA). Just search in the adminCP and all will be revealed
;))

yea after you fill out your incomming and outgoing e-mails for the board,
go to your ACP, board settings and turn the registrations from none to
user I think it is.

Oh I think I've got it. Now try this for size. Why is it that when I
post a reply to a topic in my forums, the Tripod page loads up, instead of
my forums taking me back to the topic? Weird. :(

Try another type of redirect, maybe the current one isn't working on your server.
