To Start, i'd like to state that I nor NbsDesignz are responsible for what you do to your computer. So, for example, if you f**k up your computer, we're not to blame. :)
Now, this tutorial is assuming that you just downloaded IRCXPro (http://www.ircxpro.com) and havvent opend or ran anything.
Okay, your going to now want to open up IRCXPro by going to:
Start > All Programs > IRCXpro > IRCXpro
An IRCXpro Initial Configuration Box should come up. Click Next. Personally, I'd uncheck the "I wish to participate in collecting download statistics." but ill leave that up to you. Push Next. Fill out your full name, email, country, and what not or you can just press Skip (thats what i did :P) Now, your brought to a screen where you configure your server. Most of the fields on this page are pretty self explanitory. Dont forget what you enter for the username and password. Push Next. Now your brought to a screen titled Message of the Day. For those of you who dont know what a Motd (Message of the Day) is, its when you first connect to the server, it will display the MOTD. Ok, click finish. You should see the IRCXpro icon in your task bar (the yellow thing with the blue arrows :)).
Ok, Well, your server is running but now, we want to configure it a bit more. So go to Start > All Programs > IRCXpro > Remote Control. Now your brought to a screen where is asks for your Servername username and password. For the server name (assuming that the server is running on the same computer your running the remote control on) you can enter 127.0.0.1 and now you should
enter your Username and password. If you left the username default in the initial
configuration it should be admin and the password is whatever you specified. Hit
the Connect Button.
Now the Remote Control window is open. Go to the General Settings and edit the
Server Name, Network (optional), Description (optional), and Contact Info (optional). Like I said, the fields are optional but i'd fill them out. If your isp is like me and likes to block a majority of the server ports then 6667 and 7000 probubly arnt the best ports to use (if you people to be able to connect to your server). I'd reccomend changing them only if u have to.
Okay, now you can close the Remote Control because were done with it. Now, open your irc client. If you dont have one, download mirc (http://www.mirc.com). Once you've got mirc opend up type:
/server x y
X representing your Ip Address and Y representing the port if you changed it. Now mIRC should connect, if it dosent, click the lightning bolt at the top left of the window. Once its done scrolling a bunch of text, it should come to a halt. Once it does that, type: /join #Testroom
This will create a room on your server if it dosent exist and join it. Now you know how to set up ircx and connect to it. I hope this helped, Taro.
Getting your Ip Address on Windows XP
Go to Start > Run and type CMD
This will bring up the DOS Prompt. When its open, type IPConfig. Now a table(s) should appear (depending on how many ethernet adapters you have). Look for somthing that says Ip Address and to the right should be your IP Address. If you have a 192.168.X.X type Ip Address then that means you're connected to a Router. You will have to configure your router to let access on the port of the irc server. Hope this helps, Taro.
