New Skin

This has been a working progress since Invisionboard 1.0.1! And just lately, was dragged out of the "cupboard" to be finished.

It will be released in due course, once it has been running here and you lot have tested it :D

There's a fair bit of template editing (of which we are new to) so want to make sure it's all working....


..... So, off to work guinea pigs!

Changed over and using it now.

One problem is the colours of the members, cant see the members in blue on the blue background properly, also the moderators in the mauve colour is a little hard to see also.

Two of the clickable Smilies have a white border around them also, see below:

I love the look & feel of this skin.

the home/modcp etc look great where they are.
Something I have been thinking about attempting until I stuffed it up, :blush: lol

I like the user details on the right hand side also.

A lot of fun to make, sure I bet it was, but the quality of it is second to non.

I've switched over to the new one too, and will have a good look around. First impressions, though, are pretty favourable. The user details on the right will maybe take a bit of getting used to, but that's only because it isn't something you see too often -- but I can see many advantages to them, the post itself becomes more important than the user (because of the way we read left to right), and I don't think that's a bad thing at all. So yes, first impressions are favourable, but will give it time before trying to fully assess it. :D

@ belenus, that's the reason i moved the poster details :D

I Shall release the buttons and some team icons today :)

But dammit if i'm not trying to think up new ideas for the next skin already :rolleyes:

One suggestion I would like to add, which I think would improve this layout no end, is that you put the "back to top" button on the right hand side instead of the left -- it'd be near the scroll bars then and would make the skin much easier to use (just a thought). :D

one thing that I have been thinking of.......and may incorporate in future skins is adding a "reply" button in the post boxes themselves.

good for long topics to save a trip all the way to the top or bottom of the page. :good:

The "Reply" button in the post is a great idea, and thanks for putting the "move to top" button on the right hand side. They make the forum much easier to use -- this is turning into a great skin, I really like it! :woot: :woot:

The dark blue color for the members online at bottom is kinda dark.......only admins in red are really viewable.

Or is it meant to be that way. :P

Well, not too sure on that idea. I think it looks nice as a strip.

And the online users.....the colours are not part of the skin, they are part of the board itself. If we changed the colours of them to show better on this skin, they may not be visable on the light skins. But perhaps we shall try :)

This may be nit-picking, but if you look at the "Quote" and "Report" line of buttons you will see chunks of grey or white around the edges near the top. :i:

hehe. Well yes, that is the posthead image :( it doubles up when a new td section is added :( i managed to get rid of it on the poster name part. but not been able on posthead. I shall have another go

Two ideas:
1) Center the "Return to Top" button
2) Create a "Go to Bottom" button
I will often reply and then have to scroll all the way to my post at the bottom to see what it looks like. A down arrow would be very helpful!

I see alot of good comments nut the pratical amount of buttons can some what be diffrent, we end up with more buttons every where and as 99% of boards are kepted standard in this side if things, we will be starting a new fashion, but also want a preatical skin thats easy to feel used to.
