The answer to your second query is to run this in DOS

convert X: /FS:NTFS

Replace X with the letter of your drive :P

will all my files and stuff be safe when im converting or will it all erase?

You don't lose data.

BTW you can make it display messages by adding /v.

i.e

convert c: /fs:ntfs /v

But it takes longer if you have loads of files

:)

PHP is not hard to install for IIS no matter what version you are using.. wether it is IIS5.x or 6.
Just install the php files downloaded from php.net and select for IIS. The latest bundle has IIS6 as an option now. Once you have done that run inetmgr and go to your website on the left and right click and select properties. From there select documents then at the bottom select scripts and add .php and walla. Make sure you check write.
In my view I would only install IIS if I wanted asp (that rocks with IIS) and for php I would use Apache.

Opps I mean home directory.. I haven't got it installed as I prefer Apache.
Make sure that you have also installed Mysql and that is all you need.
I also have installed MyphpAdmin to create my own databases.

You really are better to use Apache. But up to you :)

I just installed mySQL but i have no idea how to set it up...

Can someone guide me along?

Ok.. I take it that you used the default directory which is c:\mysql.
Open the bin directory and run a file called winMySQLadmin and it will load ask for a user name and password and then drop to your task bar, and if all is well the green traffic light will be on. This means that it is running.
Now right click on it and select show me. Once it opens click on the database tab. You will see some default databases there.. leave them as they make good referance while you are learning. Now at the very top right click on the top of the tree and select create database, enter a name and press ok. Database done.
Now with your web browser enter http://localhost./forum_dir and the phpbb install script will start. Fill in the details it asks for and from there follow the screen prompts and in no time at all you will have phpbb or what ever package installed on your system.

***WARNING***
This gets sooo dammed adictive.. I have sooo many forums installed localy it just ain't funny anymore... and when you run out of forums to play with it really gets dangerous because then you start creating your own scripts.. and that is when the days soo very quickly become early mornings.

Well now you have got your self another job there.. and that is to install MyphpAdmin. Just do a search on the web for it as I cannot remember the url and once you have it down place in your web root directory and get back to me and I will explain how to set it up.
Better still later on tonight (after a humugous 4 hour job) I will create you a doc on how to install it. It is not hard so don't be put off my all the files. Also you are going to need it anyway if you want to get into mysql and create databases. I am not a fan of the CUI editors for mysql.
