Why get a apple or a window when you can have a penguin? It's common sense.

Apple ---> Costs alot of $$$
Windows: -----> Costs alot of $$$ and its unstable
Linux: -----> Free and it's the most stable OS.

Why pay big bucks when you can have something just as good/better?

Its like paying for Vbulletin when you can get Invision or Ikon that is just as good/better.

It is really up to the user to decide. And it is really about what the user prefers. I am used to the interface of both PC's and MAC.
I have Windows XP Home and MAC OS 8.6 (soon to be 9.1)
And i will have the "Penguin" loaded on my other computer soon enough. :)

Well, Windows and Mac are well-supported /w software and games etc. :)

For the normal home user it just makes more sense to go with Windows or Mac OS ;)

I was about to make the same point there ash, thats pretty much the reason people get them, ease of use!! So they cost a shed load, id rather save up for 10 years than have to use *SPIT* Linux!

MACs all the way!!

The main reason i do not go over to linux is the amount of software for it, being used to mac, meaning adobe is a must, now pc have adobe that runs ok i guess, but until linux gets it, Nope not for me.

That is very true...Most software nowadays is made for Windows and MAC, although Linux is getting more software.

Mac's are unstable?
ROFL, you obviously haven't used one.

I have 2 sitting in my closet (old Perfomas) and even OS 7.5.1 is more stable then XP (oh, and btw, I have used PC's, for 10+ years, and I have 6 at home + a G4 iMac running Panther)

Personaly I prefer the PC. mainly because I am use to it.. but I must admit that I do love the Mac OSX.x.. it is awesome and doesn't crash like the others. I hated 9.x and found (from a novell network point) the finder was a real dog. But OSX and Novell 6 is a DREAM. I think mainly because it doesn't need the third party client which was the biggest headache with 9.x.

It does boil down to what personal prefs you have.
I have used all main os sytems, i rather Mac for day to day use, as its stable and reliable, idea for working on company aspects, I also use my desktop now for gaming, and basicly a work horse, thou i feel thats will also soon change and i will sell this to move my home system over to a mac also.

I love the look of the OSX GUI and its unix coding makes it so stable, The speed of macs are great, they down side is ONLY avaible software. The main stream software is there for macs, you can get some kind of software to do your job, just may not be the one you used on a pc, but thats what makes it better, you learn more programs.
I mean how many ppl stick to a names software, as your used to it ?
Photoshop is a classic, i use that only, and why, cos i am used to it, i can make it work for me, but if i tried others i would also be used to that.
