Non-standard Portal Sections

I am not too good in the coding area and wondered how to get the Affiliates and copyright area on my portal. I only have the standard ones. I figured out how to split a box in two, but not how to add a new box.

Goto sources and open the skin.php.
Copy one of the other boxes. Then goto skin_site.php or something and add the PHP variable. I will do it for you if you like.
