bah, linux, the one that physically messed up the insides of my pc. <_< Never again will that piece of over-rated junk be on my systems.
Long live Microsoft (and Apple is not bad either if they'd make their stuff cheaper :P) :D

I understand your zeal for Microsoft, but let me correct a falacy here:

Just because an operating system has become popular, does not mean it is neccesarily superior. This is the falacy of ad populum, and is very dangerous in the computer world (or any world, for that matter).

Considering the context of this thread, operating system stability, my earlier post would be better read: "Linux is more stable than Windows." And honestly, I doubt you'll ever find a Windows box that is more stable than a Linux box with comparable levels of maintenance and proper configuration. ;)

Since we're on the subject, some of you might find this interesting: http://www.andrerestivo.com/weblog/5861/

Edit: I will grant, however, that XP is notably more stable than it's predecessors....but also note that XP is largely UNIX-based....

I don't know much about computer hardware but the person who helped me out said something about the connector which the hard disk plugs into. He said this connector failed, and, maybe just a coincidence, it was just after installing Redhat 9 :)

There's no way a piece of software could have done that...coincidence methinks. ;)
