Hey Matt,

Which type are they maybe I can help with troubleshooting the problem..

I have Logitech 640z 5:1 speakers however my audigy 2 sound card failed to note which color to plug in to which...Logitech color plugs, green, black, orange. The audigy 2 has all female black input types...lol

So after fiddling around I found the solution;

Let me know, 8)

Take care

Adam,

If you can see the speakers in the picture I posted, they come with "innovative satellite design with rotating pedestals that allow for wall or desk placement, quote by logitech"

Now if you talking speaker stands that sit on the floor with an extending pole, then no...

They have 70watts of power and the subwoofer has its own bass volume control for true rich sound.

Combine it with the logitech Elite Keyboard with multimedia volume and other keys and you got a winner. But thats just my opinion.. :D

Take care

I don't like having the bass volume on the back of the bass. How come Logitech couldn't have added a wired remote to adjust the volume? Logitech makes good speakers but they don't honor the lazy people.

Well the center speaker or center channel has the volume, power, fader, center, and matrix located on it as well...

If your not TOO lazy ;)) Then clicking on the icon in the task bar takes you to a advanced volume control where you can control the bass and treble...

I myself like the advanced features that the elite keyboard with allows me a push of the button to assign the media player of my choice. I choose to have the Power DVD player with allows video desktop. This allows you to watch the video while still seeing and use of the icons on the desktop.

:)

If your still feel somewhat lazy (chuckles) use the MX300 mouse by logitech with has a alt-tab like button on it to bring up current application and programs for easy selection..

Man do I sound like a saleman or what?? Where is that Bestbuy phone number??

Whoo hoo! I ditched Logitech (even though those Z-680's look nice :P ) I went to return my 2.1 Creative I-Trigues and got some Creative Inspire T5400. Its a 5.1 sound system. I love Creative. All the controls I need in one handy remote. :D

a quote fro gamespy's ultimate gaming machine article (which is excellent for anyone looking to build a great machine, they also have a budget gaming pc)

anyways:

"Those with gobs of cash to spend and a highly-discerning ear can do no better than Klipsch when it comes to PC speakers. Okay, I'll confess. It's become a true slugfest between Klipsch and Logitech thanks to the latter's excellent Z-680s. And, I'm almost swayed. However, in the end, I still have a slight leaning toward the audio produced by the superb Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 surround sound system.

A THX-certified speaker system capable of 115dB with full discrete high-definition crossover networks, components include a dual 8-inch driver subwoofer, center channel speaker, four satellites (front and surround), and a control pod. Even if you have a tin ear, this system will sound phenomenal. You just won't find another audio alternative that provides the "theater-quality" audio fidelity and performance of the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1. It's the high-end choice for PC audio connoisseurs.

Nevertheless, I do have a final word regarding the near equally outstanding Logitech Z-680. If you're planning to hook in several digital sources simultaneously, like next-gen game consoles or a DVD player, you might want to spring for a set of these babies instead. While the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1offers traditional analog computer inputs, the Z-680 provides analog inputs, as well as coaxial and optical digital inputs. It's also significantly less expensive."

the z680's sound great in reviews to dispite an aparetn hissing sound when nothing is playing and the control pod being huge. but it comes with a remote and from what i'm told is extreamly loud.

gamespy's ultimate gaming pc (http://www.gamespy.com/hardware/june03/ugm/part1/index6.shtml) there is so much usful info on that site i find.
