Teehee it works this way, I donate a computer or some technology to needy causes and make sure all the proper paper work is filled out then Uncle Sam sends me a check at tax time for the donated items..

lowest price i've seen for a DiamondMax Plus 9 120GB Hard Drive (EIDE ATA-133, 7200 RPM, 8MB)

$ 86.00

from compuplus.com

link (http://gamespy.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=636724/search=DiamondMax%20Plus%209/ut=453cea76f30ec640)

but it's in american dollars, which isn't too bad still (i'm canadian), but i'm willing to say that they don't accept pay pal, lol.

if however you accept paypal maybe we can do some buisness ;) ;)

ooh whats this handing out free pc parts to needy people

Im Needy :P

only j/k lol i like the sound of this though but sure uncle sam must be going out of pocket some how ;)

Fierce Deity
03-Jan-2004, 04:24 AM
come to think of it, if you buy the part, then i pay you, then the government pays you in the end doesn't that mean you get double the price back? :P You should be a merchant. None the less can you get DiamondMax Plus 9 120GB Hard Drive (made by maxtor)?

03-Jan-2004, 07:50 AM
Yes Sir,

Now you got how I make money as a computer reseller...lol

The program I am in is Welfare to Work. For the computers I donate, the refund check is like payment for services rendered (time fixing up old systems or building a current model). Thats the best way of explaining it. So the goverment is not loosing out at all.

Some people however don't ever pay me... <_< but thats okay, I write it off as a expense to the business..

And to answer that Paypal question, I do have an account with them. I could make the purchase online myself, have Maxtor themselves ship you the item and thats it.

No middle man, no S&H charges, I take care of it all...

I ship to Canada and the US only for now, cause overseas shipping is high and eats into the profits.

Does this help answer the questions??

Well if the EIDE connection is not going to work.

There is of course the SATA or serial connection type that I can also get for just $10 more??

Let me know which type of connection(s) you have and we can go from there.

say you get an error with it and wipes your hard-drive what would you do then you would need to have some sort of raid device on it with a backup harddrive to constantly need to update, certainly would not be worth the hassle.
