For those of waiting for ps8 here is somthing to partially keep you occupied the new photoshop cs. It looks to have many updates, and looks very promising but also has a hefty price tag. What are your opinions on it?

i got it on the comp today, i don't like the save as feature, it seems a bit glitchy, nothing big but annoying.

What do you mean keyboard inputs? You don't mean short cut keys? (SCK) do you.
Well they work just like previous versions.
If that is not what you meant try read the manual. It comes with rather an extensive on screen and paperback manual.
I also disagree with you about the save as.. has not changed from previous versions that I can see. The only change I have seen is when saving psd files, it asks you one simple question and that is all really.

But then you will have to buy your own licence for it, so might as well buy your own copy. It is not the software that costs the money, it is the licence.
One more thought... what about the activation? you will not be able to activate it with the same licence as your mate has used.

Ahh but then PS7 did not require activation where CS does.

He's right you know, I even think you have to be online to activate it, more of a security measure :D Very wise on their part.
I haven't got CS as I'm sticking with Photoshop 7 but I've heard some great reviews about it :)

Yeah AJ.. the thing is that Adobe spend a lot of time perfecting their products and they got fed up with people stealing it.
So now when you first boot PS you have to be online and activate it. If you do not it will just not run and it gives you a message saying not activated. This is in all their CS products.. and it also talks home if you allow it access to the net past your firewall.
Maybe this will make more people buy it and get the cost down cause even the upgrade is $NZ200, which is not cheap for an upgrade package. But I bought the full version (not a fan of upgrades) and that cost me $NZ750. So now maybe if more pay for it my next version will not be so expensive.
