What's a lineman's rodeo?

we'll let's start w/ the term "Lineman"..........a person who maintains or builds aerial networks (power, Telco, CATV or Fiber optics) (I come from the Fiber optic/catv arena)

The Rodeo's are put on by power companies to showcase their lineman's skills. They will have speed climbing contests and other events that are typical for the industry.

Remember these guy's go up 60' wodden poles w/ between 12,000 volts to 500,000volts of live electricity w/ in sometimes 2' of them. The Power Linemen are trained extensively and even have an apprentice program that takes 4 years to complete. Their pretty honorable men who look out for eachother and know that safety is key. That is the other big item in the contests...

Here'e a few images of a rodeo I attended and covered to last summer

watch and promote the site as a vendor We also give supplimental prizes for all event prizes w/ shirts and nicknacks. I usually take about 300 photo's and post the results. Last 2 I wrote up a little story about the rodeo and all the notables.
