New Skin To Be Released Tomorrow

Topgunn9 has released a new skin called dark crystal, it will be tested tomorrow and added to our colllection, nice job topgunn9 :)

I didn't realize just how good green and black could look together -- jusdging from the logo, this is going to be a neat looking skin. Well done Topgunn9! :woot: :woot:

Thanks guys. This skin is 99% black and green. I have added stuff not normally added like changing scroll bars and the colour of the buttons (i.e. HTTP, IMG, @, QUOTE etc.). It is based on a font called Dark Crystal which I fell in love with. I am considering making this skin in multiple colours (Change the green but keep the black). You can see this skin on a board at:

I've had a good look around the site. The green isn't overpowering, so that takes away the brightness worry. All in all, a great looking skin. Just wonder what other colours might work, and two that immediately spring to mind are: a very bright red, and the aqua blue colour. Don't know if they would work, but it might be worth trying them -- just for the heck of it! :D

That font is based off of a movie from several years back called, (yup, you guessed it), the Dark Crystal.

It was sort of a kids type deal, I guess. Had puppet animation and such, but done rather well.

I think I emember seeing the vid at the local Wal*Mart a few weeks ago. I think most rental places would have it as well, if you wanted to see the original logo.

I've got a book floating around somewhere, about how it was made. If I can find it, I'll see if there's a decent shot of the title that I can scan.

If I remember rightly also, as im afraid I am old enough to remember the film when it was first released. It was a Jim Hederson Production, i think thats his name, yep the man who devised the muppets.
was quite a good film and was very cleverly put together for its time.


Back to that skin though.
Yep I have popped along and even though not a great lover of Green at all, I really like that skin.
I also think that your idea of different colours is a great idea, & as M3NF & AristiA know I love putting red with black. theres nothing like a great red/black site & forum to make your site stand out.
