Hello Everyone,
I'm sure you've all experienced the Windows Messenger. No, not MSN Messenger.
I'm talking about the annoying little popups you get on your desktop from time to time with the okay button in the middle at the bottom. You know what I mean? Well, I'ma gonna teach ya how to kill them for good!

1 First, you must be an administrator.
2 Now, fire up your control panel. (Start > Control Panel)
3 Next, click on Administrative Tools (make sure its in 'classic view')
4 Click on Services
5 Scroll down till you see 'Messenger' under the Name column.
6 Double click on the word 'Messenger'
7 Under Startup Type:, set it to Disabled
8 Click Stop under the Service Status place
9 Click Apply, then okay.

Hope this helped.

Well this is not the best solution actually since you do not get critical messages from microsoft

I saw this before, but i forget what the .exe file is... It was to Tech TV. I want to do this, scare my school buddies with instant pop up messages...

Microsoft do not send critical updates through Messenger/Net send. It is simply used as a portal for spam nowadays. ;)

Just wanted to mention that if you are running a decent firewall (like Sygate Pro or ZoneAlarm Pro) then you will not get these Windows Messenger ads which if I remember correctly come through port 135.

LOL! You can send these messages in the command prompt using the command

net send [ipaddress] [message]
