View Full Version : Yabb/yapp Converter Here!
 Well,
After much deliberation.... I must say, I am going to be forced to give up my trusty YaPP portal.
I reviewed and tested many portals... Invision is the one for me hopefully.
We are a FREE PC assistance site located at www.cpfools.com (YaPP for now)
I am working with a great guy to hopefully convert us over from YaPP to Invision portal!
I just wanted to say hey and if anyone out there has any suggestions to offer during our transition.... I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Feel free to stop by and say hi (even prior to the transition).
In the registration process, just say your a member of Invision and you will be let right in.
Thank you and hopefully see you sooooooon.

Welcome :) Hehe, for once I am first to reply! this getting up early stuff paid off :P
If you make a post in the support forum, you'll get more responce, Also check in there as we have archives of F.A.Q Also if you click the "help" link at the top of the page, there is some useful information we've put in there :)
Glad to have you and hope we can be of some assistance!
Merry Christmas
Thank you sir. Will do!
I just wondered if there were any others here that were former YaBB/YaPP users or looking to. I'll throw it out there.

Im not to sure about Yapp myself, but I take it you have a forum and portal by them?
if you do then I cant see there being to much of a problem in the transfer over. Usually with the converter it will convert your forum threads and members with pretty little hassle if it works the same as the phpBB convertor. all of them come with complete instructions in a readme file. most of them all you do is set up a new database and there is an autorun script which takes most of the hassle away from it.
Then the portal after installing the files where they need to go will pull all the details from the invision forum.
I may be wrong but I did a conversion from phpBB over and it went as smoothly as anything.
Just remember to make a backup of the other one just in case but you shouldnt really need it.
I hope this helps.
