Upload Mod.

Ok, I've been working on this mod for like 1 night so far and its almost done. It took me 4 hours last night from 9Pm - 1Am. Ok, well it has no cosmetics added yet, and im not planning on adding any untill version 2. IF there is one that is. The mod is pretty simple, but its new there for it has no auto insert feature. By this i mean i did not put any text feilds for you the user to put your info in. Therefore, you must open the file and put it in there manually.


Note. This information will all be in the readme.txt. I hope you guys read it...


Mod Progress: ABOUT 85% done. Yes i said 90% thismorning, but I have had a minor set back. This mod is made for Admins of websites who dont want to be bothered by FTP Clients.

After the mod is complete, (Expected with in the next few days) I Will test it, and hope that nbs will use it to mkae skin and mod submission much easier. Also, this mod will be test by NBS Staff, If they'll like. It will be avaliable through the NBS-Mods center, so be sure to look for it soon. Any add on details would be greatly appriciated.

ADD-ON- Im looking into adding a CHMOD feild. Will be able to change file permissions. As i said, Im looking into this, there for it may not be a feate.

FYI: PHP CHMOD DOES NOT WORK UNDER SAFE MODE!!!

UPDATE: Upload Mod Version 1.0A will be starting the testing phase, Since the mod is so small, I only think this mod will go through a few days of testing, and then be submitted to NBS for more testing. As of right now, the actualy mod will be divided into a users section and an admin section, making the users section upload to one folder, and the admin file to another.

Ok, for those of you who read this post. I would jsut like to say, Dean and I ahve finished the mod, Everything works perfect. Still no skin built on yet, but thats because dean is going to build on right intot he file. So this should be interesting. The file it self is 100% complete and operational, and now all we're waiting to do is add the skin. Oh BTW. There will be two seperate files for uploading. An admin file, to upload skins, and a user file, for users to upload files to the server. You can now allow your users to host their signatures on your server. WOW!...

One other thing, will the CHMOD thing be in version 1? For various reasons I cant use CHMOD yet, so it would be very helpful! ;)

Ron, Thanks for the possitive response. I dont think that CHMODing will be an option untill latter on when PHP gets better as a server program. CHMOD is tricky because its tough to use it if the host or the server has safemode on. Therefore will only be in later versions, if any.

There are still some bugs I'm working on straighting out.

Also, a question for you, shall I create an autocreater file that will automatically create the users upload directory and chmod it for you too?

If you can get it to CHMOD YES! Go for it. As to the autocreater, your the owner of this mod, your doing more than I am, You can do as you please.

Ron, This will be skinnable, there is a defult ipb skin on there. Defult blue, but im sure with any skin you apply it will work too.

And your best bet for free hosts would be to goto lycos.co.uk, although a bit slow, it is your best bet.

Ok, The mod is done, BUT Im not satisfied with it. Dean has left the project for other projects he is involved with on his own site. So im flying solo here. I am adding a few things. First RIght this second, im working on adding a sweet little File Type Limiter. This is completely Admin Cofigurable, well it will be when im done with it. The ACP Page(s) are done and there wont be any further editing of them except for the minor code tweaks here and there. But other than that nothing will be changing in the ACP Pages. For those of you who have downloaded and installed D-Upload 1.0 form Deans site. I advise you to update your code by upload the updated scripts (ad_upload.php, and upload.php) as these two files are the updated files, they will have the File Type Limiter (IBftl).

NOTE: The updated files will not be avaliable untill D-Upload 1.1, which will be the next release.


For now, this is the only add-ons that I will add to the new script. Any more Add-ons will be added by Dean as he feels fit.
