Well I was in a spot I could not drive but I was board watching the cars go by. So I Look at what would a car cost. And use it for the laptop. See I my never drive again. Due to a accident at work. 4 years ago. Now I have Seziers from it. And besides Im looking at Gas and auto insurance problems with cars. Then going well this Laptop is cheaper then a car.

Well, I can tell you this if you're thinking of one of these...
The Screen is massive. Dwarfs other laptops in side by side comparisons. That, however, creates other issues. It's a really large laptop. I'd say similar the the size we saw several years ago, and just as heavy. Close to 10 lbs I'd say. The screen is very cool because you can see it clearly from any angle. I bought mine thinking they would install the raid array. Seems they installed the drivers, but didn't enable my Raid 0 . I'm kinda peeved about that.
IS it fast? Yes, very fast, but the raid 0 would make it faster. Can I play any games I want? Almost... Far cray starts to bog it down a little. Seems the 9700 while still really good isn't the fastest video card out there. The box runs my media apps effortlessly. Movies, DVDs, SVCDs, pictures, you name it. Not the slightest dent in resources.
So, if you need super media processing power, this will do you right. A little on the heavy side, and fairly bulky as well, but it can do just about anything you can ask a personal computer to do.
Did I mention it's also my TV? The TV tuner cards works very well. I especially like the multiply channel viewing option... up to 16 channel preview. Also, record and playback (comparable to TiVO) not to mention the auto record options so you don't miss those favorite games. I like to record games and take snapshots when I see a really good play )yes, it will take a snapshot of whatever video you're watching).
This is just a taste of what it can do. It's a whole lot of whistles and bells that really means diddly when it comes to real computing, but hey, I really like my toys ya know?
Just thought I'd throw out my personal ins and outs of the system. All in all, I'm More satisfied that I can put into words. It's a beautiful system and worth the saving if you can put it to good use.

YEs, the AMD 64 is a super powerful processor. The problem is I couldn't find it in theis particular configuration. I would have given up some other nifty features like the TV and such. Yes, you can get these things aftermarket, but I liked how they intigrated everything to the laptop itself.
All in all, there are other options out there. As always, it's just a simple matter of preference. The 64 has its advantages, but also it's disadvantages. It's brand new, and hasn't proven itself yet as an OS. I'll wait a little while to see how it goes. Then I'll upgrade the home box to a 64 bit proc and OS with the new FX video. This si the way to go, but I want to wait till they have more of the bugs worked out. plus have you seen how much that stuff costs?
I'll be good with this laptop for some time. It's actually the fastest system in my house at this time! Kinda backwards from what one usually does.

Hey! I see we have some fellow service members in here. Awesome. My Cousin just left from this desert hell hole. I leave in around a month or so. From a crusty young Marine let me say thanks to all of you. I'm a patriot through and through. and though we're in different branches we all serve the same purpose.
