i hate these ------- hackers :alien:
they ------ my forum up big time
and now we had to start fresh :(

They are a pain in the ---- yes, I cant deny this. But you shouldnt have to start your forum again, do you not keep mySQL backups?

Yeah always have a copy of your database handy. Makes things so much easier.

Damn thats a shame :( i know what you mean thou, is suck a real pain, and causes such trouble. Makes you wonder if its all worth all the hard work put into the sites just be be trashed.

If I had given up everytime a hacker would hit me....I would have given up on something that is fun to do. Yeah it's a pain to have to redo everything, but that is why you keep backup's of all files. That way....you don't have to worry about it. It makes the process go alot faster, and with alot less headache.

Indeed, it's good to hear that you forum is back up. To prevent stuff like this from happening in the future I suggest you use a board e-mail that know one else but yourself knows about. You also want to make sure your password is CaSe-SeNiSvE in order to ensure that you won't have this problem again, good luck to you. :)

I glad that your site is back up. I know how it feel when someone hack sites. My site got hack like couple months ago. which I got tired of rebuilding and started with a fresh domain and everything. It's not fun. I hope you site will grow into a peaceful one.

Not all hackers are bad. There are what you call "White Hat Hackers", and they prefer to spend their time hacking into their own servers, computers, websites, and IRC servers to find the exploits and fix them before others find them. (Unless its the ignorant microsoft company that is too high up on their throne to accept any help :X)
