My Collection.

Crsyals are mined using an extremely destructive method called 'strip mining'. This basically involves blowing off mountain tops with dynamite to reveal seams. This is obviously horrifically damaging to the environment and destroys many creatures' homes as well as the creatures themselves. There is another method using a high powered jet of water to blast the rocks. Or, you might be lucky enough to find a few that are indiginous to your area, maybe at your beach. Unfortuately, the majority of crystals on sale in the shops have been mined.

I have a collection of crystals but since i've learned the above, I shall only buy those which have been "sympathetically" mined. Meaning they were found either from a volcanic eruption or other natural cause.

I have a green garnet in a spiral cage on cord (i wear it as a necklace). I've had that for about 10 years now and love it as i don't see much green garnet around :D

I have a few stones like those, I'll take a picture of them when I get my camera. I only know that one of them is amethyst. ;)
