User Email Validation

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have a bit of a problemo.

I have selected USER EMAIL VALIDATION as how I would like people to register - This means that new registrations must validate their email address to gain access to the forums right?

Well, my problem..I noticed I'm not getting any new registrations, so i went to my admin cp, and in the validate user email thingy, there were loads of people that registered but didn't get their email validation email.

I decided to investigate, and went to register as a tester, and didn't get my user email validation email at all but in the section in the admin cp, was my registration waiting to be validated.

So I now have to keep checking and see if people have registered. I've set it up temp, so i get an email when someone registers, but this is too long winded.

Does any one know why this is happening. My board is at http://www.emergencyvehicles.org.uk.

Your mail settings are probably the problem, if it's on php mail then perhaps that is the problem, you should switch to smtp and enter some details for it. using your own internet service smtp address. It's highly likely this will solve your problems.

I have tried this and had no luck. I am really at a loss. Is it worth replacing the files that control this to reset the settings?

What files would they be and where are they located?
