I was
so happy installing midnight metal I failed to notice what I had as a new
skin did not match what you have displayed on your site. I came back here
and noticed something is wrong. The attached is how my page is looking
like. I don't seem to have the 3D effects that make midnightMetal. I
uploaded through the .tar method and set up through the adminCP. The
summary for the edit skin set in the adminCP reads "Skin Set Title =
MidnightMetal (Import)1; Use Templates: = MidnightMetal (Import)1; Use
Macro Set: = MidnightMetal; Use Image Directory: = Midnight-591; Use
Stylesheet: = MidnightMetal (Import); Use Wrapper: = MidnightMetal
(Import); Hide from Members? = "No"; Set as default skin set? =
"Yes"
After all that the skin comes out all wrong. What have I done
wrong?

Could
have something to do with you using a MAC
I
have no idea. I mentioned it to M3NF and he will sort it out soon for
you.

Whats
happened her is that the wrapper is not put in right. Easy to fix, first
goto your Style_images foler on your root level. open the style_images
folder and then to the midnight metal folder, and make sure there is a
gif there call "main_bg".
If that is not there please open your d/l
zip from here and place that file from the zip into the same
place.
Then goto admin control panel and then click on skins and
templates.
Then click the manage wrapper and then on the main screen
click edit on the midnight metal.
you will see a box of text. now
delete all the tex from there and copy the text below into it. then click
the button at bottom to conferm.
All that has happen is that the
background is not either there, or its not been told where to look for
it.
Hope all works again for you

I
thought the Mac is the best personal computer. Its a shame if it could be
making life so hard.

Maybe
there is a problem with the Mac. I have done everything it did not work.
Went into the server to check, yes the file is there. Came back in adminCP
and edited the "Manage board wrapper" by copying and pasting your code.
No joy. : :)

Trying something else, Stand by

just
for the heck of it, hit your admincp, and in the skins and templates,
go to manage templates
and at the bottom under template tools, run
the tool on the midnight metal skin.

actually that looks pretty darn good, but I know you are looking for
that. :)
something just ain't right,
cause it is pulling graphics that aren't part of the midnight metal
skin
lets do this, don't know if you have yet.
on the
server in style_images directory, create a directory and name it
"3"
then upload all the images from the skin to that
directory
then in the admincp, edit the skin set and set the image
directory to 3.
I have had some strange things happening in the
past with the completely wrong images getting in the skin. usually just
scrapped my board and start from scratch. :( but with only me
on my board currently i can do that.

then
upload all the images from the skin to that
directory
Can you
please specify which images I have to upload? Should I unzip the .tar
folder and then upload the "set-MidnightMetal Folder" that comes out,
all into this directory?

when you unzip the the tar file there is a folder called images, take
those images and upload those manually to a directory on the server under
style_images/3/
