For some unknown reason I renewed my web hosting deal for real, proper money. This was daft in the extreme as I use 6 meg out of 500 just to skin and provide support to ibskins.com.

So the basic question is...does anyone want some.........space you can have, oooo, 30-50 meg for nowt with php, mysql, PERL, ftp, telnet access and no safe mode or bandwidth limitations hassling you. You do however end up with a crappy sub domain of yoursubdomain.virtual-forum.com, but hey ho I was feeling poorly when I chose the domain.

You will get root access as sometimes you just need it, so I'm trusting you to obey the obvious rules.

Seriously you can use it for what you want from hosting images to a forum, preintsalled if required. Please note I have to approve pornagraphic content personally....this can take several days.

Ignore the transfer thingy I once emailed them about it during a busy few weeks when I had a vb community and they said they don't check it. It is however quite reliable, most of the time, you get the odd query problem, I keep asking them to configure apache properly but no joy. However its based in County Durham so I might pop round and give them a piece of my mind :D.

So if you're sick of safemode, speed issues and crappy hacks of PHP get in touch ;)

no pounds and no pence ;) obviously you don't get the full 500 megs, but you get as much as you need is the best I can say

Anything is better then my current server, no uploads unless it's via ftp, you can't link in, 10 megs max I just find out the other day, safe mode on, no smpt pop whatever. i'll send you an e-mail asap. :)

as I've explained to m3nf safemode is one of my pet hates, I run an apache server for my own purposes and can't see the logic in safemode.

Also I would like to apologise to folk on here, re viruses if you don't know what I'm on about then all the better for you, if you do, then sorry :(

I'm always interested in people skinning ibf, in fact I'm trying to encourage it. Don't worry about email PM me with your details subdomain etc and I'll set it up immediatly.

Ages since we've seen you around here. Very generous offer. I currently have a hosting account with 50 MB but it will soon be going to 200 MB as the host is killing my smaller plan. I will probably do the same as you and share it around :D I will keep everyone posted as to when my account it upgraded.

Well my evil hosting empires going quite well so far, the lack of nudey pics and dodgy software being uploaded is rather disturbing, but apart from that I think I've got 5 on the go, 4 of them ibf forums which is nice. As I say a couple more then you can close this one until Topgunn9 gets some more space ;)

greedy bugger :lol: do you even need to ask, although I'm not sure a subdomain would work to well for you if you just want somewhere for uploads I'll make you a directory and you could just edit your conf_global.php paths to point to the folder

With my 50 MB's of space I only use about 100 MB of my transfer a month. When I get the 200 MB I also get a 10 GB transfer limit. You are welcome to put the html folders or whatever on my server if you would like :D That would probably halve your data transfer. If you hosted the MySQL yourself and maybe the rest with halfcut you could do quite cell ;) I wonder how a forum would go spread over 3 servers...
