Help needed ASAP

I changed my username on my forum.....and now i cannot log in.

I had my password resent and have cleared all cookies..i think.

please help...

I have tried that too.

it is really starting to annoy me.

is there a way to register a test account and then change it to admin....so i can sort out my original account...?

thanks CP but i cannot file the files it suggests to use...and i have very limited knowledge of phpmyadmin.


Edited i have registered a new user and found the file i needed....by trial and error.

if you have acces with phpmyadmin, its easy to change a user status into admin.
register with a new username.
go to phpmyadmin, look at table "user" explore the table for the name you just register.
when found, click edit and change usergroupid into the same group as your original admin name.

possible you need to change the config file so that not only admin 1 got all rights, but also your new registered name with corresponding id number.

look for this in config.php:

// ****** SUPER ADMINISTRATORS ******
// The users specified below will have permission to access the administrator permissions
// page, which controls the permissions of other administrators
$superadministrators = '1';

put the numbers like this:
$superadministrators = '1,2';
or whatever id the last name got.

i have managed to change new person i registered to admin i then altered the password of the exisiting username and the one i want to use...

still will not let me log in. I have cleared all the cookies...unless there are ones that i missed on the board it's self...

it is really driving me up the wall. :notamused

good work Fury this has ahppened to me but i didn't change my user i changed my password and it would log me out alot

I have some how or the other fixed this.

I really really hate things i fix but dont know how i fix them...
