Right first of all hi,
To install the toplist, just unzip the file, and upload that folder to your web space, check chmod settings on the lang folder are to 777 and also the install.php file. Then create a sql database via phpmyadmmin.

Then open your browser and head to the path to your uploaded toplist and add install.php at end.

This will then open a page that you can enter the details for the sql database infomation. Then follow the on screen details for the rest of the infomation.

Hope this helps.

Hi

thanks...

But See, the problem with those instructions, is that you are going to overwrite your index.php file if you do that. I guess you upload these files into their own folder then, and not into the root folder.???
Yeah, and clarify the "then create a sql database" part. We'd need to know what to call the database, the user name, and password.?????

thank you :)

Ok i just had to read above my post, and yep was correct on folder, no this will not write over the index.php as you would be only uploading the folder, so this would not happen.

As for the sql, well you need to log into cpanel, then goto sql database, once in there, at bottom you will see a link saying phpmyadmin, now use the create a database area to make a database, it will not matter what you call it as when you goto the install.php via your browser, you enter manually these details.

So once you created your sql database you then goto the install.php via your browser, that will open a web page thats ask for your details, now the sql database will be your cpanel username, we say thats lazy then add a _ and then the name you called the sql database, so would look like.... lazy_toplist
The username will be the same as your log into the cpanel and the password also the same password you use to log into your cpanel.

These are the main details you need to install the toplist.

Once installed, you be diverted to a new page asking for a username and a password you like to use for your admin account, this is the log in details you like to use to control the toplist, this can be any username and password you like.

Once you entered that you can then enter a banner yourself, allowing your site to show on the toplist.

Once that is done you will be diverted to the admin login page, just use the same details you entered before for admin, and then thats it.

Hopefully you can understand, if not feel free to use the toplist support area itself to ask for further support or even request a member of our team to install this for you.
