ImpEx Question

Hey @ All,

Basically after a lot of thinking our clan has decided to move to vBulletin from IPB2. Now I read all the instructions and readme's that came with it but just having one problem.

I have installed the forums fresh on a new database, filled in the Config file and installed. No problems, rename the install.php file and away we go. Iv uploaded the latest ImpEx files onto our webspace and renamed the .new file to .php and filled in all the config details, no problems.

When we start to run the import modules on the first one we have a few errors in the logs, shoutbox and arcade but thats only because they arent standard. We then run the rest of the moudles without a problem apart from uploads and emoticons.

I have recounted everything on our forums etc and then return to the main page. When im on the main page I am seeing that we only have 1 member in the members list (my new admin account) and that all the posts are still there in the right forums but all the users that have posted them are wrong e.g. I posted one thing in IPB2 and once imported over it says MrX has posted iit even if he doesnt have permission to be in that forum.

I think I may have done something wrong with the second module where it asks you about the member ID's but im not sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think I remember having the same problem. Now if I remember correctly, on import when it asks to associate any current users, you would be the only one, providing that your name/pass details are the same. All other users are installed unassociated. If this was the problem, you can run the installer again. In your database, go into datastore and drop the impex table, then re-run. If that doesn't solve, you might have to do a fresh install.
