Ipb 2.0 - Vb 3.0.3

Hey Guys (and Galls),

You might remember a while back me asking about ImpEx. Well ... I totally forgot about moving stuff over when we had to change webhosts and then had other problems to deal with.

Now the Christmas rush has all died down, I feel its an appropriate time to move across.

Im currently using IPB 2.0 and looking to move to VB 3.0.3. Is there anything I should do before I start the move across? Iv copied the current IPB forum database and made that into a test import one for VB. Ive got myself a copy of Impex 1.5 and ready to go.

Is it a case of just installing the forums fresh, with new database as I normally would. Uploading ImpEx 1.5 and changing all the details to what I need. Then going to the admin cp and running it for IPB2 in order?

Is there anything special that I need to do or need to remember before I do the move? Also, do all the forum permissions get transfered as well as forum topics and posts? Just will save me a load of hastle if it does. Anything major that doesnt import across either?

All of your topics/posts/users will be copied across but you will need to recheck your permission masks again as when copying across due to the difference in masks they do play around abit on the import.

Ive never had to personally convert as of yet so dont know how well the import goes but im sure others may be able to help a bit more.
