pafiledb integration

We've been looking at changing our database system. It's alot of work for our members having to register, go to the usercp and find login details, then go to the database and use those details to get their download accesss.

I've been trying out a couple of scripts and this pafiledb looks good. I modified it to only allow members from the forum to download. They need to log into the forum for the cookies as this hack works with cookies from the forum.

probably, it just connects to the database and finds a user in the sql area. I'll have a looksee later

What database do you guys use? And how do you make it like that? Is it a custom database made by you guys? Or a heavily moded / rearanged database?

If so would it be available for purchase, if made by you guys? And if it was just moded, then would I be able to know what database you guys use?

I used to use pafile for quite a while and liked it VERY much. Now mkportal comes with it's own downloads area so no longer needed.

kaze, it's ipb 1.3 with a skin applied. we have it for purchase in our paid skins area for 1.3 but i dont know if you can freely download 1.3 anymore. (it comes with the nightfiber for ipb 1.3 skin)

Like aristia said, its using a forum, we made a custom style and editted it to look like a database :)
Now i bet ya never thought that, Thats why we love our work, can make anything look different :)

Thanks. I never looked down that area, I only use IPB 2. I'll be sure to get it once I get a payment, and
along with NBS Ads.

PS: PerlShadows looks like an awesome skin. Any plans for it making newest versions of vB and IPB?

Not at current times, weve currently working on one more port and that is the firefibre style, once this is completed, soon we hope, it be back to bring new style into the market. As much as its great to keep the range of styles updated, the time it takes means that there is very little time to express new idea in the skinning world, and better ourselfs with some new and better features. We did have plans on working on a hugely updated version on IBX-VBX with full dock system that looks and runs like the dock on a mac, using the dock as a way to access the more important feature like admin and control panel area. There are many areas were currently working in and want to first get some fresh new style out for our members to download free from us.

I believe that they are using vB 3.0.7.

i made the necessary changes as described mysqlhost, mysqluser, mysqlpass, mysqldbname,
vbcookieprefix_

i see error when try cannot select forums sql :(
