HATE Invision Services - Hosting....

I am going to start to HATE :mad: Invision Services....

They make a great b board, but the shared server always being down or even worse not allowing the forums to come up is realy making me mad.

I can get the front page, and I can log into the server with FTP, yet the cpanel and index.php? gives me a 404 error tonight. And the server says its Online??

GRRR might switch over to vb if this keeps up.. I will continue to skin IPBB for ppl but I might offer to host on NBS and pay them for a server that is up 99.9% of the time.

I dont understand why the have so much issues, we get aot of custom ourself from this thou, so i will not rant to much :P, but with the funds they get they should be able to spend more on better service help or better connection from teh data centre, yes i know we all have done time, we do. So its understandable, but this does happen a lot from what i heard. Maybe times will get better.

But yer vB is the way to go :P

this just goes to show you that all they are intrsted in is the money and everything else is just a pain in the backside to them, looks like they work by "Take their money and offer them little" or "Take their money and Please don't PM or email me for support"....mind you we don't want them to change their ways cos as they are is a good thing for NBS......

It's funny but i hardly ever have any issues with them regarding my hosting.
The odd thing here and there...which i can handle

It really is a royal pain to be trying to do something and you cant because the server is so unstable if it was just a few times it wouldnt be so bad but invision is frequently having trouble with its servers.

IMO vBulletin is way better compared to IPB. It seems more secure and it's easier to use. IPB is just too complicated especially the ACP.

The software and boards are great, I have learned to do many things in them...It's just the hosting that bugs me...

The bulletin board is great, but I wouldn't recommend their hosting. For $14.95/month, you don't even get source file access! I was able to get three months of hosting and a domain name for one year all for just $11.04! And if I want to continue my hosting another three months, it's another $3.00, which is still less than one month of hosting with IPS. (And they don't give you a domain name; just a subdomain.)

Why not just get your own hosting? I only pay $16 a year for my hosting which is always up.

Yeah he's got hosting from NBS now I think, cuz we have awesome servers :)

I agree Derek, NBS servers are better than others out there I have seen...

Currently running the IPB 2.1 test board, and its helping to convert skins over to 2.1 from 2.0.4...

IPS fixed its server issues...thank god for that...since that time, my site is been up since.

Wow I agree with some of you. Im also another one who doesn't have issues with them, just little things, that can be easily dealt with. :p You must have bad luck or something lol j/k
