Hi Skinners,

I need someone to put together a skin for me. I am the administrator of a gaming group called the old guy gamers. We are a group of "mature" gentlemen who play Americas Army online. We currently serve over 100 members worldwide and we would like to incorporate a forum into our site that is not external to our server.

We currently use INvisionfree and like the interface and ease of admin access.

Is there a way for us to host this same type of forum on our own website?

www.oldguygamers.com (http://www.oldguygamers.com)

our forum is currently at:

http://z10.invisionfree.com/Old_Guy_Gamers/index.php?act=idx

What we really need is a skinner/programmer to join our clan for the help. If you are a gamer and play Americas army please let me know. I will check these forums for replies...

I would be willing to offset server fees and dues to such a member if one of you guys can help us out.

We also need help with a PHP homepage with modules from AA. But that is another story...

Thanks for your time,

[OGG]Ripper

Musicalmud << Insteresting name..lol

Okay first let me say a few things...

The forum that your using by Invisionfree is out of date and no security patches are available for the Invision Power Board 1.3u Final. Another thing to remember is that Invisionfree does not allow you to backup your forum and move it to a new location. So what I am saying is, all post, topics and members would have to be "recreated" from scratch. Thus this is sometimes a pain in the backend.

The skin however may be available for updated versions of the Invision Power Board which does have better security features to keep spammers and hackers out.

Now the difficult part. To recieve a newer copy of Invision Power Board, there is a cost from http://www.invisionpower.com/ to recieve the latest version which is 2.1.7

"Is there a way for us to host this same type of forum on our own website?"

Yes you can install a version of 1.3u Invision Power Board on your current website. The link would be something like this:

www.oldguygamers.com/forum (http://www.oldguygamers.com/forum)

"What we really need is a skinner/programmer to join our clan for the help."

I know the layout of Invision Power Boards and I do create some skins, some custom, some related to a holiday or other type. So I gues you can say I can change the look of the forum.
