Ok i went to a forum that was using my LOTR skin, she had removed the coprite, i asked her to put it back so she did after saying she didnt know where she got it from :angry1: but she was a member here, it was sorted, then i go back too check now and then becaue some people think oh they wont check again and there is my LOTR skin now fing purple, she has completely ripped my design, by altering a few buttons all the icons the rings etc have been changed to silver, all my elven writing has been made smaller to look like she did it, i know my work, i am pretty ------ off at this point, and my copyrite has been removed, she has just put pics of a diff character where mine where it is my skin but completely ripped :wacko:

help before i kick her ---

lol that looked nothing like my skin when you had finished with it and i am always happy to see new versions of it, but this chick really has a prob, she had my skin as a zip download, i got angry i admit but she had already wound me up, talking to me like i owed her something, i have found her host, she again got cocky so i have asked for any resemblence of my skin to be removed, its only fair it was the fact that she had it for download and like hey lets play doll maker or something with the design :angry: She completelty ignored the admin from here. I love skinning and i am a very proud person so that skin took me an hour not the best i have done, but according to her freind it took 8 hours to edit the design :wacko:

First of all it's a guy who owns that site, not a girl. I can send LuLu the name, address and phone number if she wants to proceed with legal action (which I can help her with also). They live in the states so it would be easy to shut them down and permanently ban that URL if they don't comply. We'll wait for them to make the next move, and then follow suit if necessary :D

Ok i have recived a email this morning, they have put the original copyrighht back to lulu, BUT i have told the site owner that this is still not solved as you will need to contact lulu personally to conferm she is happy with this.

So lulu can you inform me when she has done what you want done to this so we can stop further action from our side.

Thanks chris they have banned me from there now and the skin is no longer showing for me, so i am now unsure of what the progress is, i have sent lulu a email and awaiting reply from her before i take further action now.

When i checked this morning the board is acctually offline....no reason.....nothing, just one big buny logo, tho LuLus copyirght is back on, not that, that realy matters now if the skin is still there.

As for last night, i went over to see what they were going to do, they didnt seem to be that bothered, they posted back to me that she would put whatever ---- back, and completely ignored the fact that she had my skin for download without permission, that is what had upset me, more than anything, they said that it wasnt their fault that someone had ripped my design they didnt make the skin after all, lol. Their Friend came on who had ripped it and asked me not to take it further cos of their poor freind and i said that they were wrong to have done what they had and that my skin zip shouldnt be there and that is what i wanted removed, this person had already removed my credits once before when they where using the original design so that wound me up, it was not the fact it had been changed i would have asked for original design by lulu even though i was mad.

I demanded that anything resembling my design should be removed. They banned my account and turned the board offline. It looks to me like they have removed the design anyhow so ill just wait to see what/if anything happens next.

I removed her skin and any copies of it. I don't know where to contact lulu.


My reply was i shall let her know, but due to this we shall be keeping a eye on this forum now onwards so think twice before doing this again.

the email was at the bottom last night, plus the person had my email adress so he/she is lying
it was there a couple of hours ago, plus my skin file had it in.
They obviously are pisssed at me for being forward enough to tell them they are in the wrong. I am grateful for the help here ~Thanks~

I agree with LuLu. Acknowledgement of ones work is all we're asking here, and it's completely free. She is not asking for any royalties.

Here is a snapshot of their current board. I think it says very clearly what their true intentions are regarding this matter. Strict legal measures should now be taken and they should be made an example of for others who try copyright infringement :cry:

Well the skin has been removed from the board, the skin is also not available at all for download now, So I think the message has got across.

But all of these sorts of sites that rip skins claim as thier own go into a thread in our staffroom for all the moderators to keep checking back on.
So even if they put the skin back and start again in a coupe of weeks when they think its all blown over, they are very mistaken.

We take ripping skins very seriously here as do all of the IPB sites offering free downloads whether it be skins or modifications.
